Out of a local train

A major event in my EPA as in Extra PS Activities: Essel World on last Saturday. We left at 7.30 and came back at 8 :)

For destination Essel World, we braved the local trains of Mumbai for the first time. We includes four other friends besides yours truly. And since I don’t want to be bashed up for telling you about their silly acts, let us call them Opal, X, Alan and Rav.
The journey was uneventful till Borivli. We boarded at Kurla, changed train at Dadar, but had managed coz Rav happens to be a mumbaikar and served as honorary guide for the day. Now at Borivli, a larger crowd wants to get in, for the return, than go out. First-timers, we dutifully stood at the gate lest we remain in the train. Now the incoming crowd charged, and charged like a herd of mad bulls. Hefty uncles tried to get in while yelling as if going for war. X was trying his best to get out, but ended up doing oscillatory motion, fluttering like a leave in the wind. His voice rang out "Are, mujhe utarne to do". Opal did a pole dance. Rav showed good reflexes by catching his specs that had taken a high jump. I was somehow sandwiched well in between and escaped unharmed. When we got down, Alan realized that his watch dial had divorced the strap. A frantic search on the train’s floor brought about a reunion. There was no commotion at the door now, the calm reigned after the storm….

For future references, do not try to alight at Borivli as soon as the train reaches. Let the crowd come in, then make a move. The local stops long enough. (We realized to our dismay).

The best part of the visit, about Essel world, follows in the next post.
